Kids Picks

Kathy and Andrea (former owner of The Secret Garden) were talking on the phone one day and sharing how disheartened they felt by all the negative news they were hearing. They decided they wanted to do something positive and quickly came up with the idea of calling the Vancouver Foodbank to ask how they could help. After a very positive meeting with Arlene Kravitz - who informed them that 39% of foodbank recipients are children. A special fund called Kids Picks has been set up just for these children. You can help by filling the tin that is at the counter at the Secret Garden or sending in a donation…..

Tea Matinee

Did you know that the Secret Garden serves tea a the Stanley in beautiful china cups? It is called “Tea Matinee and the next one is Wednesday February 7, 2007 at 1:00 at the Stanley for the play “Up Island”

A Special Birthday

The Secret Garden is proud to play host to big events like our Twist Fashion show and to everyday special events like birthday celebrations. Lauren, pictured here, has been coming to the Secret Garden with her Mom every year for her birthday since she was 2 years old. Here's what her Mom has to say about their special tradition:

"There is no better place for a mother and daughter to go to celebrate a special occasion and be treated like royalty. Lauren loves the little goodies and I love that Creamy Earl Grey!!! It just couldn't be any better. And, it gets better every year. I hope to take her there every year until we are both very old!" - Pam

"I just wanted to say thank you to your staff.  I was in yesterday with my 6 month old son Kalan, and your staff was wonderul (as usual!).   

I felt like a little treat and since I was in the area, a cup of great tea was such a nice thought.  To be honest I was not sure if people would be okay with a little one at such a location.  Kalan is usually really easy going, so that was no worry, however some people go out for tea to escape their everyday life.  When I arrived I was made to feel so comfortable and everyone made me feel welcome and was great with my son!  He doesn't mind the attention!!

I love the Secret Garden and have spent many great hours planning things such as my wedding, the arrival of our first child, dreams of a second (!) and many more great conversations with my mom, my sister and my best friend, who introduced me to your location a few years back.

The Secret Garden has sugar and spice and everything Christmas packaged and waiting for you. Come see our little mini gingerbread men, sparkling sugar ginger stars and our gorgeous tea sachets. You will be inspired!!
