Hi Friends,
Hope you enjoy this picture of Carter and Jordan! Erin is expecting another baby at the beginning of January and we are so excited! There is lots happening at the Secret Garden so hope you will pop in and say hello and relax for a few moments with a nice hot cup of tea. Please keep sending in your stories. We love hearing from you. If you know of someone who is doing something to make the world a kinder place please send us the details and let us know! You could win a high tea for two. Hope this season brings you much joy and comfort.
La Belle Époque & The Secret Garden
Secret Garden recently donated food for a tea at La Belle Epoque fashion show and it got rave reviews. Here is what Susan Smith had to say: Everything went extremely well and people were very impressed with your food as well as your generosity! Many people came and asked about the Secret Garden...I think a lot of people will be seeking you out. The food was fantastic... Everything looked so nice and patrons were very happy to have such a fantastic tea.
Make sure to check out all the beautiful fashions at the exhibit at Vancouver Musuem.
HUGGS Student:
Did you know that the Secret Garden sponsors a girl in India named Krishnaveni? Through an organization called HUGGS Canada the Secret Garden supports Veni in her studies and provides food and clothing for her throughout the year. She is a wonderful student and all charged up about her studies! She is so happy to be a part of HUGGS. If you want to find out more about what HUGGS does please click on the website www.huggscanada.com.
South Van Gogos
Pictured in the centre, of the photo below, is Barb Wadman one of the founding grandmothers of the Secret Garden and our bookkeeper as well! She is standing with two African grandmothers who visited Vancouver to meet the GoGos. The GoGos are a Vancouver group of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campagin which seeks to build solidarity, raise awareness and mobilize support in Canada for Africa's grandmothers raising children orphaned by AIDS! For more information see the Stephen Lewis Foundation's or Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. There is a glass jar at the Secret Garden counter in which you can place your donations.

Kind Words from our Customers
Secret Garden catered Deborah's mother's 90th birthday party, for sixty people, at our home. Secret Garden's food and service were absolutely delightful. My mother-in-law and all of her guests had a wonderful time, and so did we, as we able to relax and enjoy one another's company amid beautifully presented, delicious food and thoughtful, good-humored, utterly professional service.
